Below we explore the key details of attending the Insured Retirement Institute’s IRI Annual Conference, Insurance Innovators USA and the Life Insurance Marketing and Research Association’s LIMRA Annual Conference.

The IRI Annual Conference, which is hosted by the Insured Retirement Institute, will be held from April 2-4 in Nashville, Tennessee. About 500 attendees gather from companies including life insurers, asset managers, broker-dealers, banks, marketing organizations, law firms and solution providers.

Financial advisors can register to attend for $400 – $100 more than last year but still a steep discount compared to IRI members, who currently pay $2,145 (up from $1,995 a year ago), and other nonmembers, who currently pay $2,645 (up from $2,495).

The event addresses business, technology, political and regulatory issues that impact the insurance and annuity supply chain for retired individuals. It kicks off with welcoming remarks by IRI President and Chief Executive Officer Wayne Chopus, followed by a fireside chat, moderated by him, with three industry CEOs: Bruce Donaldson of Simplicity Group, Jasmine Jirele of Allianz Life Insurance Co. and Andrew Schlossberg of Invesco.

Insurance Innovators USA, which is hosted by MarketforceLive, will be held from April 22 to 23 in Nashville, Tennessee. More than 1,000 attendees are expected to attend, with participants often from leading insurance carriers and approximately 75% of whom are at the management level. The event aims to prioritize carrier-led conversations about how firms are responding to technological and socioeconomic challenges in 2024 and beyond.

This year’s speakers are from companies including Great American Insurance Group, The Hartford, Nationwide, Prudential, State Farm, Travelers and USAA.

Key agenda topics for this year are next-generation artificial intelligence (AI), the future of auto insurance, insurance in a connected age, underwriting in uncertain times, and Web3 and the metaverse.

Although many financial advisors likely have not yet discovered this event, those who can attend Insurance Innovators USA stand to gain a much better understanding of how insurance providers design and distribute the products that many wealth management clients rely on.

Non-insurer tickets cost $3,099, while insurer tickets are $2,099 and reinsurer tickets are $2,349.

The LIMRA Annual Conference, which is hosted by the Life Insurance Marketing and Research Association, will be held from Sept. 15 to 17 in Nashville, Tennessee.

It is considered one of the largest gatherings in the insurance industry for managers and senior executives across the life, annuities and workplace benefits spaces, where leaders discuss the latest issues and trends facing the financial services industry. Attendees also include decision-makers from broker-dealers and asset managers.

During this year’s event, once again, all general sessions will be live streamed and certain breakout sessions will be recorded and available after the conference ends.

In-person attendance for nonmembers costs $2,800 from now until Aug. 4 as part of early registration. After that, the price will increase $200 to $3,000 for nonmembers. But virtual session attendance costs only $600 for nonmembers. For members, the early registration fee is $1,600, the cost after Aug. 4 will be $1,800, and virtual registration for members costs $450.

Advisors who attend this event may gain deeper insights into emerging developments, as well as the true priorities of life insurance and annuity salespeople who interact with their wealth management clients.
