Kevin Mummau And Brian Bichler Take Reins Of FI-Focused Broker-Dealers, Valorie Seyfert To Retire
Atria Wealth Solutions announced the appointment of Kevin Mummau and Brian Bichler as Co-Heads of the firm’s Financial Institution channel, managing San Diego-based broker-dealer subsidiaries CUSO Financial Services (CFS) and Sorrento Pacific Financial (SPF), which provide investment and insurance solutions to over 200 financial institutions, with over $30 billion in assets under administration (AUA).

Both appointments are internal promotions. Mummau served over two decades as Chief Relationship Officer at CFS and SPF, leading the broker-dealers’ program development, managed investment and relationship management functions.
Bichler served five years as Atria’s Head of Platform Experience, leading many initiatives at CFS and SPF, including portals for both professionals and end clients. Prior to Atria, Bichler served in various wealth management executive roles including Head of Advisor and Marketing Platforms at Morgan Stanley and Chief Information Officer of Wealth Management at Zions Bank.

“Coming off a record revenue year in 2022, Atria has ambitious goals for our Financial Institution channel this year and beyond,” said Doug Ketterer, CEO and Founding Partner of Atria. “Brian and Kevin are the right leaders to lead this channel for us, and the breadth and depth of their combined talent and experience will have a huge impact on our business and that of our clients.”
Seyfert To Retire
As Mummau and Bichler step into their new roles, Valorie Seyfert, Head of the Financial Institution channel and Co-Founder and President of CFS and SPF, will retire.

“We are so very fortunate for Valorie’s leadership over the past 26 years. In the truest sense of the word, she was a trailblazer for this industry and our firm,” said Ketterer. “We have exciting plans for the future of CFS/SPF, and her legacy of insight, expertise and dynamism will have a lasting impact on the firm, our financial institution partners and our industry for decades to come.”
The promotions of Mummau and Bichler come shortly after another channel head appointment, as the firm named Bill Morrissey to Head of the Independent Channel and Managing Director in November.

With the backing of private equity firm Lee Equity Partners, New York-based Atria supports almost 2,500 financial professionals and approximately $100 billion in AUA, providing brokerage and advisory services through subsidiaries Cadaret Grant & Co., NEXT Financial Group, Western International Securities and SCF Securities, in addition to CFS and SPF.
