To My Fellow WSR Community Members:

I sometimes wonder if Charles Darwin were to examine our industry today, would he see in us the constant striving to adapt and improve that he discovered in the finches of the Galapagos Islands? Though of course I can’t speak for one of history’s greatest minds, I like to think he would find an evolving ecosystem in wealth management.

What would Darwin discover at a
wealth management event?

Just like a living ecosystem, the creativity and energy that emanates from our industry solves problems, frees our time for more productive tasks, forges new avenues for investment and tax planning, creates new partnerships, alliances and mergers that tweak already high-performing firms to achieve the next level, and ultimately improves our clients’ quality of life.

This week we bring you several stories reflecting just this type of creative innovation – in real estate investing, family office technology and workflow management – as well as our roundup of this month’s top M&A, recruiting, strategic partnerships, promotions and people moves in our industry.

This Week’s Issue

Here’s what we have for you this week:

  • Is your family office equipped to capture future growth? In the Digital Domain, Nicole Eberhardt, Chief Strategy Officer forLedgex, explains why family offices serving ultra-high-net-worth clients fall into a technology gap at a time when the number of UHNW clients is growing quickly and how advances in beneficial ownership technology can help close that gap.
How do you manage workflows?
  • Has your firm outgrown its CRM workflow functions? Also in our Digital Domain section, Meghan Rutherford, the Customer Training & Onboarding Manager at Hubly, addresses the steps advisory firms should take when choosing a workflow management software provider.
  • In our Investment Solutions & Gatekeepers section, Edward Fernandez, President and CEO of 1031 Crowdfunding, explains how clients can use Delaware Statutory Trusts to invest in real estate, DSTs’ potential advantages and disadvantages, what type of client DSTs suit and how an advisor can get started providing DST solutions to clients.
Is it a Delaware Statutory Trust?

In case you missed it, last week we brought you the latest move by Protective Life’s  Concourse Financial Group, which recruited $500 million HNW-focused Key Group Management, with nine professionals across New Jersey, Massachusetts and Arizona, in our Words in Edgewise section.

Please share your thoughts, ideas and questions with us!

We’re on LinkedIn and other social media, making it easy for you to share our latest offerings.

Have a great week!

Cheers!
