M&A Growth, Minority Stakes and WealthTech Mania

Could This Be One of the Busiest Summers for M&A and Capital Raising in our Industry’s Recent History?

Larry Roth, CEO, Wealth Solutions Report

To my fellow WSR community members:

It’s been a hot summer, and not just in terms of the heat.  M&A and capital raising transactions in the wealth management space are on fire, fueled in no small part by the continued entry of new sources of growth capital into the industry.

For private capital investors, M&A investment bankers and C-suite leadership teams in wealth management, this summer could easily go down as one of the busiest deal seasons in recent history.

But unlike past cycles of frenetic activity, there’s a refreshing level of innovation and new approaches happening at the same time, reflected in this week’s WSR issue:

  • Our latest Upmarket story – “Minority Stakes and IAR-Only: Growth Wars Drive New Affiliation and Ownership Solutions” – discusses how RIA aggregators and IBDs are more willing than ever to be more flexible in M&A transactions and affiliation models in the ever-intensifying growth wars.
  • In Capital Connections, we spotlight SageView Advisory Group’s new Chief Development & Integration Officer, Jeremy Holly.  A seasoned senior executive focused on M&A in his last role at LPL Financial – including spearheading the identification and execution of the Waddell & Reed acquisition – Holly shares his views on SageView’s forward growth strategy and the key elements of a successful M&A deal.
  • In Digital Domain, we interview T3 Founder Joel Bruckenstein on the triumphant return of T3 events to an in-person setting, the pent-up demand for new wealthtech solutions and what to expect at this year’s T3 Conference at the end of September in Dallas, Texas.

As always, please be sure to like and share content from WSR that you believe should be of interest to your friends and contacts.

Most importantly, thanks to all of the members of our WSR community for your ongoing engagement and interest – We’re continuing to attract new readers with each issue, and we welcome your feedback on topics of interest to you!

Cheers!
