Post Pandemic: Office, Virtual or Both?

Wealth Management Firms And Financial Advisors Consider Post-Pandemic “Office Versus Virtual” Work Models

Spring is a season traditionally associated with fresh hopes and new beginnings, with the added appeal this year of what appears to be light at the end of the pandemic tunnel.

As vaccine distribution continues to accelerate while COVID-19 deaths and severe hospitalizations diminish, wealth management firms and their financial advisors are actively mapping out what a return to normality looks like:

  • Will we revert to a traditional Monday through Friday in-office model once more?
  • Will firms remain completely to mostly virtual?
  • Or will a hybrid approach that envisions a meaningful mix of both in-office and remote work destined to be our industry’s new normal?

WSR conducted a survey of our pre-launch registered readers on their forecasts with this issue over the near term, medium term, next year and beyond.

One thing is clear from our survey results:  The pandemic hastened the move to a virtual workplace, but remote work is here to stay on a fairly extensive basis over the long run.
